- Hi all,
-
- I just tested Lightwave 4.0 Pre Release on a Intergraph ISMP6 machine,
- a multiple CPU 4 x 100mhz Pentium with 256mb Ram,onnected to a 48Gb Raid-7
- hard disk array, using ST15150 4Gb Av Seagate Barracudda`s. If only I could
- take this home <sigh!> ;)
-
- I wondered how Allen will implement multi-threading for multiple cpu`s under
- Windows NT, the easiest method I can think of, is uses Lightwave Segments
- option, where lightwave will render each segment on a seperate cpu.
-
- So with a 4 pentium machine I could:
-
- a) set lightwave to render using 4 segments, each one on a seperate processor
-
- b) set lightwave to render using 3 segments, utilizing 3 Pentium processors,
- and running Modeler from the 4th.
-
- I also tested Lightwave 4.0 on my 486/66 at home, it actually rendered
- faster than my Warp040-40mhz Amiga! sheesh! and I was going to sell it
- for a pentium, because I thought it was too slow, and out-dated.
-
- I still have a A4000/040-25mhz, I don`t use anymore now. way to slow for me.
